Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Responsible for assisting in inspection, maintenance, and repair of components for all lifts.  Includes daily lift start up and shut down and mechanical maintenance, at the direction of the Lift Maintenance Manager.  The Lift Maintenance Helper complies with applicable policies, procedures and regulations of Granby Ranch, Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board (CPTSB), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), lift manufacturers and insurance carriers. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Helps to perform pre-operational lift start-up inspection to ensure that each lift is ready to run each day. 
  • Assist in running the lifts for line work or other duties as assigned. 
  • Assists with troubleshooting of lift problems as they occur. 
  • Operates shop equipment and power and hand tools both in the shop and on the mountain in the repair and maintenance of lifts. 
  • Reports and/or corrects conditions which may negatively affect guest or employee safety. 
  • In the event of an emergency, follow Granby Ranch policies and procedures. 
  • Attend periodic safety meetings to increase safety awareness. 
  • Wears appropriate safety equipment. 
  • Assists with building and installing modifications to CPTSB, ANSI, lift manufacturer and insurance carrier standards. 
  • Assists with Lift Operations as necessary. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 
  • Valid drivers license required. 
  • Safe operation of 4-wheeler, truck,and/or UTV. 
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively. 
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. 
  • Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions. 
  • Actively looking for ways to help people. 

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS: 

  • At least one year experience in lift operations or mechanical maintenance field, or a related field. Experience may be substituted for specialized training; i.e. two years experience for one year specialized training. 
  • High school diploma or GED is required. Higher education is a plus. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays. 
  • The primary physical environment in which this position outdoors with a high exposure level to all types of weather conditions. 
  • Lift, kneel, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, grasp, feel, hearing, talking, repetitive motion, and working at height above 6 feet using fall protection. 
  • Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting; fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, compressors, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn. 
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees in English. 
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
